Of course, if we distribute pictures of naked women, then they would have to carry the aplicable warning... ::)

My solution is simple.

The problem with the world is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but lets just remove all the warning lables off of everything and let Darwin sort it all out.

Well, Darwin's final analysis was not that it's the smartest,  but those most adaptable to change who prevail. If it was the smartest, how would you explain how those with the power to get things labelled like that have such  power? ;D
Meanwhile, I wonder if those who assemble these joysticks in the factory have been warned about the potential ill effects of handling that cable... somehow I doubt it, even though they, far more than the consumer, are at risk...

Flippin' bleedin Norah....!

In all my 50+ years as an Electronics/Electrical Engineer, I must say that I've never come across a trace of lead in the type of cables such as fitted to the humble joystick....
...and similar...!!

Where do they come by this daft information.. ::)... :'(...?

Cheers all...!

Lead went out of fashion when the Romans stopped building flush toilets in Great Britain... ;)... ;D...!

You are absolutely correct.  And likely they are working for a pittance in some factory in some third world country ....and they know NOTHING about what theyu are handling day in and day out.

Sad really.

Technician (the one who assembles & repairs what daft [;)] engineer designs) to Engineer:
lead-based solder is yet used on cable connections and ckt. bds. because manufacturer (in whose opinion said technician & engineer "only suggest") find it cheaper with the claim that no one will be opening units/insulation and consuming it ::). Plumbing solder is quite another matter.

Hence the word plumber*.

*They're not growers of dumb plums?
Plumbers and toilets -- what a bummer...  ;)
