I'd like to make my own movie...not for the money or the fame, just for the friggin' sake of it.

Proper Anime would be nice too on tv.... Although I wonder what's left after the censorship..

The only Anime movie I've seen was Jin-Roh. A prime example for a good setting and storyline.

Never seen that one..Most stuff which is on DVD here is aged already or simply too western for me. Ordering from Hong Kong helps though..

Amateur filmmaking is quite fun...but equally as exhaustive.  I often find myself wondering how in the world the pro's put up with it all.

I haven't made a film in AGES, and I'm dying to get back into it.  Sadly, no time... :(

I just cant see why pay the price to sit in a theater with people you dont know jabbing away on the cell phone, bringing thier kids becasue they couldnt find a babysitter etc all for the cost of the DVD with added features and out takes which will be released three months later, which you can then watch over and over again.
The movies have never been the same since the drive-in started disappearing, now there is a good time!

and what is this about Top Gun being a aviation movie?!
You are talking about the one with Tom Cruise right? ;D ;D

The only amateur film I've taken part in was a James Bond parody. But that was six or seven years ago...

lacking of originality, the star wars The last one, is very good, however the harry potter movies need to follow the books more because they are doing it to make the books sell more, But everything is repeating over and over and over..... I watch any type of movie I can get my hands on (I rarely see movies in theater but I recently I have seen more) because I have this 35 year old Marantz Super scope R-1270 sitting by my TV hooked up with my Apex VHS/DVD combo and 19 inch tv awaiting my private use....... Honestly, the last theater I went to Sucked, the sound system was horrible, but thats not the point...... I prefer to watch movies on my own terms, NOT Guys taking their GFs out...... I can really shake windows, but I only have 2 speakers?? Hell, new movies are just going back to the old ones because thats what people liked, I think Hollywood needs to wake up and come to see people are bored!...... Cheers, Gunny

Well, let's see...

A lot of re-makes like The Dukes of Hazard, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the rest kinda suck.

Not to mention the high ticket prices.  And our economy isn't that healthy either...

That new The Dukes of Hazard movie...I loved the original when I was a teenager and have the feeling that the new one is going to rape the original too.

The economy is the strongest it has been in a generation.  Unemployment is low, housing sales are up, even housing COSTS are up 16% over a year ago, but the houses are still selling.

The economy has nothing to do with it.

Star Wars 3 was a good one

What we have to endure here is:
- De Kameleon part 2, a film for kids up to 12. The previous one was better, and partly filmed where i live. Just your average dutch movie

- War of the worlds, Spielberg version. Never seen a worse hollywood rape until that one. I certainly hope that the 'arty' version is better. Especially from Spielberg i expected better
