The Labour government, membership of the EU, political correctness, stealth taxes, the war on the motorist and a totally ineffective Police Force.

Football hooligans
Huge taxation
Extortionate prices
Thuggish & violent behaviour

Lack of respect for your fellow man
Aggressiveness
Lack of pride
Attitude that it's always "the bosses fault" and never try to help your company

Suing everyone for every little thing
The destruction of our culture
Free speech only when it suits the government

I think the United States is an amazing country.  We've got very few restrictions on our freedom (if any, really), we've got the ability to change anything we want, speak our mind freely if we disagree with anything being done, and we've got an all volunteer military comprised of brave men and women who put their lives on the line, by choice, for very little money.

The United States will be turning 229 years old this weekend, and I for one will be enjoying every minute of it.

We've got a thriving economy, diversity that would be difficult to rival, and we're tolerant of other cultures and beliefs, even if we disagree with them.

We've got a strong domestic product, huge export income, and we're not ridiculously over-taxed.

Sure, there are things I don't like, but I wouldn't trade the things I LOVE about being an American for anything in the world.

The US is a great country and very privalidged- wish the UK had the great things of the US. The only thing I wish the US didn't have that the Uk has is the lack gun culture.

I see no problems with firearms, in the hands of people properly trained to use and care for them.  It's when a gun gets into the WRONG hands that the problems arise.

But don't take Bowling For Columbine worth a grain of salt.  It was the product of Michael Moore, a VERY biased "filmmaker" (a term I use loosely) who does nothing but try to spout his own agenda in between sessions of intense binge eating.

I thought the idea was to confine comments to your own country. How the heck did the firearms question raise its ugly head? ::)

While I agree with Scania on what's wrong with the UK there's also a heck of a lot right with it. For one thing we're allowed to mutter & moan all we like about the way it's run & criticise the people running it without fear of persecution. The UK is still one of the freest countries in the world. Despite all its faults I wouldn't wish to live anywhere else. 8)
