'scuse me for beeing a total idiot about this... but could someone explaine the pros of this new techno-gizmo? Better quality? More station? What's it all about?

I understand that digital radio is a huge step forward qualitywise... but this XM-stuff does seem to work as an old-fashioned radio... Or do I get it wrong?

150 channels of choices, most totally uncensored, and all of the music stations are commercial-free, the quality is for the most part excellent, but your signal can be interupted if bad weather comes along or if your signal becomes obstructed somehow, I really haven't had much problem with this in my car.
It's just so much better than standard radio because there are so many choices and my favorite thing of all (two actually) no commercials and no censorship.
