Personally, If I had my choice of an aircraft to be while having an engine failure, I'd rather be in a single engine aircraft

I don't get the logic behind that. ::) Most multi-engined types are capable of normal flight with one engine out. You might think differently if you were crossing the Atlantic. The more engines the better as far as I'm concerned. ;)

I'd prefer to have an ejection seat if I had an engine failure in a single engined aircraft. Takes all the hard work out of the forced landing... ;) ;D

I'm of the same opinion. If I was in an aircraft with an engine out I'd want that aircraft to be a B52. ;D

Or a motor glider would be a nice choice...

I'd rather know that I've got another seven engines to keep me up than knowing that my plane has a good glide ratio. ;D

Aside from the alarms going off, I doubt you would even notice losing one engine in a B-52.

Unless it fell off. In which case you'd probably lose two...:)

I believe he meant losing ALL engines, not just one.

Leaving (heaven forbid) just six engines with which to land safely. ;D

I'm afraid this is how it works now. More & more new housing is being built near airfields & at least some new residents will make complaints.

NAS Willow Grove has been there for 30-some years, as far as I know. There is little-to-no housing around. Besides, they do all their stunts right at show-center now, so theres nothing harming anyone, except the pilots. And the closest thing to that is a 5-mile forest.. :-/

Besides, look at the lineup. The only ones doing stunts at "speeds approaching the speed of sound" are the Blue Angels. The A-10 TAC Demo is over the runway..

..numbnuts.. ::)

LOL, I'd love to take that guy up in an Extra 330 and show him some real "death-defying maneuvers" ;D ;D ;D

Of course with an attitude like that a C172 would suffice, a power off stall would probably make him $#17 his pants :D

Personally, If I had my choice of an aircraft to be while having an engine failure, I'd rather be in a single engine aircraft

^Ditto

BTW, if you look at the stats, twins are not safer than singles. The extra engine gives a false sense of security to many pilots and causes them to not be as cautious as they should ::) Plus, the glide ratio thing is V. true.

It is true that this thing happens all over, recently by my home town airport which has been there for many many years, I guy and his wife (for lack of a better term) whom have plently of money, bought a home next to the airport, by next to I mean step out in the back yard and 60' is the first row of hangers.
The very first week they started to cause trouble reporting noise complaints, trying to make them have set hours they can and can not be open (based around thier work schedule) etc.
How frickin stupid can you be, not like you didn't see the airport when shopping for a home, you cant miss it sitting right in your backyard!
I think given the fact that the complaints started the very week they moved in it was nothing but personal agenda, much like the animal rights activist that will tell you how wrong you are for eating meat while standing in front of you in a pair of Nikes and carrying leather purse ;)
