Hi Comm...!
Lovely pic....the buildings are very accurate...just that the Tower is missing!
...and the Flight Sim, English scenery is always flat!... :'(...!

Even the UK scenery mesh, and VFR Photographic Scenery from justflight.com is un-realistic... :'(...!

Paul....that's why I always fly in California... ;)... ;D...!


...think that little wooden hut in the centre is supposed to be the tower.............just a small tower though eh?........ ;)

I have always seen gliding as the purest form of flying.

I bought Just Flights VFR Photographic Scenery, England and Wales...
...bad move... :'(...!
The scenery is fine from 2000 Ft AGL, but the Flight Sim mesh, (default or payware), is so naff that I have abandoned Little Britain... ;)....and moved over to Sunny California where Uncle Bill's scenery is more "realistic"... 8)...!

I've never enjoyed gliding much... I don't like not having an engine much...

Hi Chomp...!
That's always a real pilots nightmare, the time when your engine suddenly fails, and refuses to re-start... :o...!
During their flights, pilots are constantly on the look-out for a suitable place to land should their engine suddenly go "quiet"...!
That's the time when, as Hagar mentioned earlier, your learnt gliding techniques come into action... 8)...!
Practice it in the flight sim with the Cessna 172....
From a height of 5,000+ feet, cut your engine, search around, and see if you can safely land in a suitable spot below by carefully trimming your aircraft, observing the layout of the land, the type of land, the surface of the land, the wind direction, etc, .....and gliding there... 8)...!
In reality, your life could depend upon a successful gliding technique and a safe landing... :)...!
...good practice... ;D...!
