I agree, Ive been saying that for years. One thing that has always baffled me is the fact that at 21 it becomes legal for you to buy alcohol and handguns at the same time. Two things that shouldnt go together at all.

You should consider "dropping dime" on that officer, but remember, they have radios. He may have called it in, and somebody else may have been dispatched. If he was alone, he may have been required to get backup anyway. Unlikely, but possible. Either way, you have a right to find out. If policework is too unpleasant for this guy, he should get a different job.
As for the young "ladies"... there seems to be a trend among teenage girls now to not just get into scraps (been that way for a long time), but to all-out try to kill each other. Bizarre.

Any of you guys hear about the girl who was trying to get into a gang, and for her "initiation", she had to kill this guy...I wish I could remember the details.  My wife was mentioning it last night.  The case was beyond disgusting, even for gang-terms.  I'll see if I can find out what happened...

I don't know...he should've went to the scene right away...I should've told him that there was someone down tho... :(...

But I did tell him that they only had baseball bats....now think...baseball bats vs. .40 SIG (Detorit Cops carry SIGs)...what will win? ::)

But that cop disgusts me, hes sitting in his car half asleep outside a dougnut place...how sterotypical ::)

I don't know what I'm gonna do yet...

BTW, I would be considered one of the "better drivers" now days...I follow all traffic rules (due to the fact that if I screw up, I'll end up in prison :P)...

...but I personally think that a cop not doing his duty is more of a crime than a 15 year old trying to grab a quick lunch.

All right, I'm gonna ask my Geography teacher just exactly how the DPD operate (her husband is a detroit police), and then take action accordingly...

I'll stay out of the "driving age debate" ::), but I did hear a pilot say that kids should be taught to fly before they're taught to drive...

Not sure what to say about the cop not responding...

It's not for me to say Jeff but it strikes me that if you were driving illegally you'll be the only one to suffer if you make a fuss over it. Discretion might be the better part of valour on this occasion. ::)

PS. I can't criticise as I did exactly the same when I was younger. I was extremely lucky to get away with it as the police stopped me just after I'd passed my driving test. They'd obviously had their eyes on me for some time but there was nothing they could do about it. ;)

I agree, you may want to stop until you're legal, the penalties are not worth it, and we would not be happy to see you penalized for that...

I don't know, what if the next time, theres a gun to my head and someone told that same cop about what was going on? ::)

I am definately taking the safe approach tho, I want to get to the bottom of this, and I'll do the best of my abilities to stay anonymous...

I meant stop driving till you're legal....it's good that you're concerned!  Many people would have just ignored it. Go along to get along.

, I came upon this one Detroit Police cop car parked outside a getto imitation-7/11 place...

...so I told him "I just saw a few people beating the crap out of each other with baseball bats at a gas station a block down that way."...

...and he just replied "ok"...and then he didn't do anything...

BTW, I would be considered one of the "better drivers" now days...

and thats why i dont think anyone less than 18 should be driving. The attitude you should be having is, "i can always do better" added to that your driving illegally that alone tells me your not one of the better drivers. Sorry.

Remember all of those news stories I've been posting about people getting roughed up by the police?  Remember how I'm constantly saying that we're focusing on the wrong part of the story?  It seems that whenever I post such a story, the crosshairs instantly move to the officer's head, and we neglect the fact that the person who got roughed up was doing something wrong at the time.

This thread has become a prime example of that philosophy.  Here Stormtropper is pointing out an example of kids out of control, and rather than villify THEIR actions, the thread has become about how Storm shouldn't have been driving.

Just a casual observation... ;)
