Hey, hell is a cool place, too! Lots of interesting personalities there...and I've always wanted to have a chat with Mr. Hitler

Why, so you could ask him why he murdered thousands of innocent people because of their belief in something?
Sounds like a terrorist to me and I don't know why you would want to meet him except to make sure he is suffering for eternity.

Back to the topic at hand.....................  ::)

So far this has been quite interesting. I compliment everyone for a good discussion. Of course there have been the usual naughty ones, but we won't mention any names will we Ozzy..... ;D

Many oriental cultures view death as a caterpillar that goes into his cocoon to emerge as a butterfly and a better life/existence.

To think that there was nothing else is hard to comprehend. There are many, many cultures both western and eastern that believe strongly in spirits/ghosts. This is widely believed by most religions and the spirit is referred to all through out the Bible.

I spent my time in hell over 30 years ago and would prefer not to go back. I've seen life as $hitty as it gets and have seen people beg for death because of it.

Obviously I believe as Hyperion does.

He did a bit more than murdering thousands of people....but that (sadly) is what he is famous for.  ::)

Hyperion, yes I want to go to hell (if there's one).

From a military standpoint, I can see why you might want to chat with him.

Watch what you say, Lucifer is listening and he might be able to make that arrangement.  :P

Well looks like I am the third Christian to post in this thread. Obviously I believe that I will go to heaven when I die and being a 14 year old I'm looking forward to a great life hopefully touching other people with the love of Christ. I can only hope that people will see Jesus through me. If I can accomplish that, then my life will be complete. :)

I'm looking foward to what other people will say in this thread.

-Ben

P.S. Thanks Romulus111VADT for making this thread. Very interesting. :)

To think that there was nothing else is hard to comprehend.

Maybe I shouldn't comment but what makes you say that? I find it far more difficult to comprehend that there is something else or why people seem to find it necessary to think so. Perhaps the fact that it can never be proven is the attraction. We all enjoy a good mystery story & this is the greatest mystery of all. The human race is insignificant compared to the power of nature as recent events have shown all too well. Please don't try & tell me that is the work of some benevolent super being. We're here on this planet for a very short time so I intend to make the most of what time I have left. If I don't believe in an after-life I won't be disappointed to find there isn't one. I might be in for a surprise but who knows? Perhaps I'll find a way to come back & tell you. ::)

Aha! Interesting point! I believe "ghosts and spirits" do exsist! BUT, I am not quite sure they are physical on this earth. Let me explain: according to me the human mind is capable of extraordenary things. I am convinced the mind can project an image or feeling so strong, you actually see or feel it! Think of it... A person looses his/her loved one... The one thing he/she could be comforted with is seeing the loved one back. So as a defense-system, the mind make itself believe that loved one is near-by, so real it's like it's actually there. That's my explanation for ghosts.

I also think some people feel this things more. I seem to be able to "sense" peoples intentions quite good when i meat them, but i don't think that's supernatural.

All i mean is, in a world where death surrounds us, it's only normal we should find some way to cope with it...

The world itself is a man-made hell.
And by the way, I don't believe in a life after death.

If there is some sort of afterlife, it is hard to comprehend that you go to someplace where you float around for the rest of your “new” life watching over loved ones for all eternity. And if there is a Heaven do sit in front of a giant DLP Screen with an endless bowl of your favorite snack watching your favorite shows

I think this all stems from the human dream of immortality. This concept of heaven would be my own idea of hell. It might be fine for a while but this is supposed to be for eternity. This is the whole point. Everyone's idea of heaven will be different. I'd rather not be immortal thanks all the same.

I've always had what I call "sensible" views on this subject...
As has been said before, "When you are dead, you are well and truly dead"... ;)...!
You will be popped into the ground, (assuming you are not roasted), and after a short while you will slowly turn into compost to fertilise the daisies growing above you.
There is no "after-life"...just a pile of compost and bones... ;)...!
I don't think the tree at the bottom of my garden will appear in a "tree-heaven" when it finally drops its last leaf.
And I'm pretty sure that the hedge-hog that I've just flattened on the road, or the snail I've just squashed, (accidentally), or the nice piece of smoked Haddock I had for dinner today, not to mention the the roast beef I had for dinner on Sunday, were transported to the hog/snail/fish/cow/etc, Heaven in the sky... ;)...!
I ask you, just how much room is there up there for it all... ::)...?

I see no special difference between us "Human Beings" and anything else which lives and grows on our tiny planet.
We were all produced by an accidental fluke billions of years ago and slowly developed into the various living "things" which we are today.
No one of us living things are any "special" to any other living things, so why should we presume that we alone deserve to be treated differently from anything else...?

Just make the most of it while you are here...It's your last, and one and only chance.... 8)...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul....you wont be seeing me "on the other side".... ;)... ;D...LOL...!

P.S. Has any one heard of a collision between a Boeing 777 en route between London and New York and a Heavenly Choir of Angeles sitting on a Cumulous cloud lead by a conductor wearing a long grey beard...and wearing sandals... ;)...?
I think not.... ;).... ;D...!

Can you imagine meeting this bloke on the "Other Side" still wearing his flat cap and accompanied by his old curtains...>>>

Image

...I ask you... ::)... ;D...!
