Although there are exceptions I have to agree there Paul. I haven't seen this "Blue Planet" but am I the only person to think that the award-winning "Walking with Dinosaurs" was a load of expensive rubbish?![]()
I have to agree "Walking with Dinosaurs" was a flop as far as I was concerned. However the BBC is still top of the pile when it comes to factual wildlife documentary. They push the boundarys and make landmark series such as "The Blue Planet" 6 years in the making, outstanding underwater footage of, in many cases, never before observed animal behaviour. Well worth the licence fee in itself. They also produce some of the best Drama series.
I'm not an advocate of watching TV for the sake of it but there are exceptions that I will go out of my way to watch, or video if there is no avoiding missing the original showing.
I for one will be looking forward to "Planet Earth" which isn't due to show till 2006.

What happened to the good old-fashioned camera panning that actually gives you time to see what you're looking at? They must be designed for people with the attention span of a goldfish. I find the continually switching views usually gives me a migraine in a few minutes & refuse to watch programs featuring them. Many otherwise excellent documentaries are ruined by this latest fad. I hope it's just a fad anyway. They certainly won't last as long as some of the classic documentaries filmed using traditional methods.
