Foz,  maybe the measurements in the UK are different for blood pressure readings....everything else is, right?  lol  While your bp would be high here in the States, it's not un-fixable.  Keep us posted!
Great edit, Bob.

Fozzer,

Congrats on discovering the issue before it was too late.  Welcome to the club of blood pressure medication takers... I'm another one.

Follow the dr's instructions... since we'd like to have you around here for a long while.  (What am I saying?  ;)  ;)  :D  ;D )

Seriously... take care of yourself.  Glad to hear that you are on your way to getting a handle on it.

best,

................john

Hi all... ;D...!

Continuing the blood pressure reduction saga:

After a week of eating nothing but fish of various species, and slowly developing scales, fins, gills and goggle-eyes...
I had a word with various "experts?" regarding meat dishes suitable for lowering my blood pressure...
CHICKEN...they all said!
(Just make sure you don't eat the skin....that's full of FAT...)!
White meat=GOOD; Red meat=BAD...!

So...!

Today's dins...>>>

Fresh whole chicken spread with mixed herbs and ground pepper, laid on a wire grid in a roasting tin, and popped in the oven...NO ADDED OIL, BUTTER, SALT, or SODIUM!
(All the skin removed after cooking)!

Steamed vegetables:
Potatoes, carrots, brocolli, brussel sprouts, runner beans, chopped spinach, and dried sage...NO added SALT or SODIUM!

Gravy:
Just Bouillon chicken stock cubes; NO SALT, NO SODIUM, NO FAT!
Just Bouillon vegetable stock cubes; NO SALT, NO SODIUM, NO FAT!
Stock from the cooked chicken.
Water stock from the steamed vegetables.
Dried parsley, whole green peppercorns, ground black peppercorns
(NO thickening/colouring agents: eg, flour, etc).
(OXO etc, chicken/beef/vegetable stock cubes contain vast amounts of SALT!...that's why they are so "tasty"...)!

Pudding:
Cox's apple/banana.

This is the finished meal containing fantastic tasty food with no dangerous additives...!

Note no visible Vino here. Just real orange juice, Daffy's favorite colour, matches his beak... ;)...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul.

Amazing weight reduction: 7 lbs in 4 days due to eating/drinking good food/drinks containing no fat, or added sugar or salt/sodium...!
Good news; My weiner has now come into view... 8)...!
Cool or what...?
Another blood pressure check later in the week...Watch this space...!

We love you Fozzer! Take care of yourself, and remember a glass of red wine is good for the heart...repeat G L A S S not b o t t l e or k e g ;)

Oh and as for "tubby" I prefer the term "pudgy"  ;D

I am a well rounded individual lately. I need to lay off the bread, Reeses, and microbrews
