During my life there have been things appearing like PCs, CDs, DVDs etc.
Imagine what things have appeared during Fozzers The wheel, history (all of it), silicon implants (Pauls favourite)

Why I still use the two holer by the barn, yes I have modernized it, I drilled two one inch holes in the North side of it for deodorizing, every new Sears catalogue we get I faithfully put the old catalogue on the bailer twine to hang on the door.
I even have it painted checkered red and white to give them college boys that fly over in their Hercs a laugh.
I even hung a stainless steel bucket on the West side to catch the rain water so ya could wash your hands prior and after.  Rain water is soft you know.
I even put a new broom in last month to keep it nice and clean, why the old one was still good, it was only about ten years old.
Yup...I got the most technology advanced two holer in these parts of the colony and ya wanna believe it.

I belive he is talking about a out-house. Never heard it called a "two holer" but 99% positive that is what one is

I also remember a time when you would go to the grocery store, get your items knowing the price because of a sticker pasted on it, push them up to a cashier who kindly rang up your total, while a young person(first job) would place said items into a bag and when done would ask if you need help and be more than happy to take them to your car.

Now you go grab your items, never knowing the exact price, hope you have your plastic discount card to get the lower price which is still at a 80% mark up, go to the check out, scan your items (you are your cashier) bag your own items, and stick your money (in any form) into a machine.
All of this and your now paying more for the items, this is called convienance. Next the store will be asking (and charging) you to stock the shelves.
Think of this the next time you or someone in your community complains about job loss or unemployment.
Do your community a favor and some teenager looking for thier first part time job, don't use the "self-checkout" your paying a hefty price for your groceries and now supermarkets are making you do all the work, and creating job loss and unemployment Not the Pres............

Yeah, poor old Fozzer - he's the oldest guy here that I know of.... He remembers the days when people didn't have even the most basic of gadgets....
but if he doesn't notice this soon - we'll have to PM him. Should think the insides behind the gray hairs have a lot to reveal!

Reminds me of a time I went to the store (in the good old days) I had a cart of stuff and the kid ask if I needed help with getting the items to the car (now mind you I'm only 36 now, this happened when I was 22) so I said sure.
On the way to my car he let the front wheels of the cart drop over the curb so hard that the cart flipped on its side, milk and eggs went everywhere!!
He was so ashamed and apologetic and all I could do was laugh it was the funniest thing I had seen in a long time poor kid trying to catch the eggs rolling (if not broken) around in a crowded parking lot

He was certain I was pissed, but I told him the only thing that saddened me was the 12 pack of beer spewing all over (beer was more important than milk then )
Needless to say his boss saw what happend and came screaming. I told the "boss" to let him be and that it was my fault and that the kid deserved a raise for being so helpful. That boss was a prick!! Tellng me that he hopes I don't let the incident keep me from shopping there again, I told him that his attitude would keep me from shopping there again!
When all said and done I gave the kid a tip for making me smile, and found him a job at a different store with better pay
And yes that is the store I do my shoppng at now and the kid is now store manager and a family man, and if not mistaken making more money than me, OH the irony, LOL!!!!

More interesting about good ol' Paul is, that he handles modern technology without any problems.

Never underestimate old codgers. Those grey-haired wrinklies might look slow & confused but it's usually an act. They've probably seen more changes than at any time in history. They took it all in their stride & coped without any difficulties. I expect the youngsters of today will have similar stories when & if they reach old age. I'm not sure they will see as many changes.

For example: My ex-wife's late grandma was a remarkable lady. She was born during the reign of Queen Victoria when the British Empire was still Great. Must have been in her teens when she celebrated the arrival of the 20th century. She lived through 2 world wars & lost a son in one of them. During her 90-odd years on this planet the first powered flight took place, the sound barrier was broken & she saw the first man set foot on the moon live on her TV set. Mind you, she always insisted that it was really done in a film studio on Earth. She was no fool & still had all her marbles when she died peacefully in bed.

Depends. My grandparents for example didn't ever dare to use a computer,digital camera or mobile phone. My grandma doesn't even know how to use their new washing machine.

I expect the youngsters of today will have similar stories when & if they reach old age. I'm not sure they will see as many changes.

Our life is boring and it will always be.
