Or you can just open your DOS prompt and type in 'Ping www.Simviation.com' and that'll tell you how fast your connection is...

Um Flames, what have you been smoking? The NHL is currently in a lockout.
There haven't been any games played as of yet.
And we probably won't see any played for awhile.

Hey Steve,
Didn't realise :-[ Too busy trying-out for teams myself ;)
Why the Lockout ???

I actually got the fixture from NHL.com
Apparently, games start on the 13th of this month ::)(See schedule page)

Cheers guys,

Carl out.....

P.S. Sadly didn't quite make the grade this time - maybe next season

The league's locked out because the owners want a salary cap, while the players want a free market.
It's like trying to add oil to water, it just doesn't mix.

This site might explain things better.

Ouch man!!
That sucks, although I actually agree with owners on this one.
We have a salary cap over here now and the Hockey is no worse than what it was before.

I think it's just the players worrying about their bank-balance.

As I say we have quite a low cap and we still have some good players (Brent Pope, Jim Vickers, Mark Gouett, Dennis Maxwell, Ian McIntyre all in London) then you have: Daryl Andrews, Jeff Christian (who's played for : New Jersey, Pittsburgh and Phoenix as well as numerous appearances in the AHL and IHL), Erik Anderson (All at Sheffield), Russ Romaniuk (made over 100 NHL appearances + had spells with Canadian National team), Vezio Sacratini (has played Pool A World Championship and Olympic Hockey for Italy), Ed Patterson (Ex Penguin (68 Appearances)also with plenty of IHL experience) (All at Cardiff) Plus many others who have come and gone Inc. Dave Morissette (Who played 11 NHL games with Montreal and got 57 PIM ;D), Joaquin Gage (23 NHL and 25 Canadian Intl appearances), Mike Torchia (6 NHL 5 Intl (Canada) plus hundreds of IHL appearances), Marty McSorley (Needs no introduction ;D made a couple of appearances - nothing major).

So after all that, my point is - with the amount of money flying around in the NHL today, a wage cap wouldn't be that bad really.

Right now I'm finished, I'll go start training for next season ;)

Cheers,

Carl out.....
