Fozzer, have your tried right clicking and opening the link in a new window. Or, if you right click, and go to properties, and copy and paste the link from there, it might work. I don't know about having security at medium but that might not be allowing some of the cookies from these sites which might be why they won't open.
I recommend going to www.download.com and searching for spyware doctor - I found it to be a very good program, it stops cookies and other things.

This is the easiest problem to solve!!
Get rid of IE!!!!!

I used to always get that until I installed Netscape, very very seldom since then!!!
Might want to try out Firefox, real nice, fast and secure think of switching to make it my default soon.
