Our family has a cell phone, but even though we don't use it much, it has come in quite handy in a couple emergencies

Agreed that most people shouldn't use them and drive, but then a lot of people shouldn't be driving anyway..  But you can't be so selective with laws, so yeah I would have to agree with making it illegal (even though I do it ).

Sarah* and I use our cell phones so frequently that we don't even have a home phone.  Everything is a cell call.

With that said, the real point of the story here is the assault on the flight attendant, not the phone  usage.

I'm amazed that they're not pressing charges.  In the US, that's a federal felony!
