Mine would have been Psion Flight Simulator on the ZX Spectrum 48k with rubber keyboard.
Alas Fozzer and myself still love these things, I still have a working 128k hard keyboard Speccie and a huge pile of tapes, including Elite for the 48k variant Kevin ;) Its still a great game :)

Quote Pippin...
"I had a game called 'Elite' for the Commodore 128.  It was pretty awesome.  You could choose where to fly a spaceship, whether to be a pirate or not, etc..."

Blimey Ozzy...!
Wasn't Pippin the lucky one...Commodore 128... :o...!
"Awesome"...Woo-flippin' hoo... :o...!
Our version of Elite on the 48k Speccy consisted of white wire-frame graphics on a black background....
...and I never could reverse my spaceship into the door on that flippin' round rotating thingy.... :'(...!

Still,... mustn't complain it was, (is), fantastic at the time... 8)...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Yeah, it was a bitch when your auto-docking thingy went out.  Even with the wire frame graphics, it was cool though...

If the think the Commodore 128 is a blast from the past, how about this?  I used to have a Vic 20 also!  ;D

Elite was the best game ever.  If I could find a way to make it work on this PC I would.  Oh well...

Will if you download Spectaculator (as per Fozzers link) I'll send you Elite and a whole wad of other games, and I've got links for a load more!!!
The only one I haven't got and am still after is Psion Flight Simulator ironically. I have it on tape and can play it on my real Speccie, but I just can't stand sitting around waiting 5 mins for it to load!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the Commodore addicts...do a search for "Commodore Emulators"....there are lots of them for different models.... ;D...!

On the "Spectaculator" web site, on the right-hand side of the page, see...
World of Spectrum.
TZX Vault.
for all the games....seconds to download... 8)...!

Cheers Ozzy...!

Paul.

Spectrum tape loaders were the best. Uncle Clive got it right there, .... ;D....unlike the poor Commodore users... :'(....!
Boo-Hoo...!

LOL...!

I've tried one, but it's just not the same without the huge floppy disk drive and the little cassette drive that took hours to load a single game :'(

;D

Mine was CFS1... This was quite a weird intro to our hobby:- I was nine then and there was the option on my parents PC package: Star wars or the sim. I realy wanted star wars at the time, but I wouldn't buy it now, no way!
