By the time things can go 64-bit I suspect the FX-51 will have some competition!

The FX-53 is the latest one and that is an unbelievably powerful CPU.

There we are - I've fallen for marketing jargon once again! ;D

Surely that proves my point -
except the general application benchmarks

But I agree the FX is better ;) However if you got the FX the only thing you could do is play very load games because of the noise!

I know the Itaniums & P4EE can't compete but surely Intel have something up there sleeves - or don't they :o ???!

When i mean generals apps i mean word etc, and it only just beats the FX.  The FXs i have known (which is all available) don't make any noise out of the ordinary level.  They are quite quiet actually.

I think Intel blinked when this happened and AMD hit them hard, very hard.
