It's purely in your mind old chap. The suffix "ing" meaning "settlement" is very common in Sussex where I live. Before you ask "sex" means territory of. Sussex is the territory of the South Saxons.

Here is a map of my local area.

Thanks for the map Doug...saved it...!

My name: Fosbery.
From the village in Wiltshire, A Saxon settlement "Bury", populated my the "Fos" tribe.
I remember it well... ;)...LOL...!

...back to water...
When I lived in an isolated cottage in Herefordshire during the war, we drew our water from a spring in the ground, occasionally replenished by the local animals, cows, sheep, bagers, etc,.... ::)...!
LOL...!
We often ran out of water altogether during hot, dry Summers...
But pure cow pee made up for it... :o...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers all...!

Paul.

P.S. my tap water tastes OK to me, just let the tap run for a while to get rid of the stale water in the pipe.... :P...!
...(also good for the liver, and dilutes the vino)... ;)...!
LOL...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Something occurred to me while I was browsing round my local convenience store this evening. If this Dasani stuff is made from the local tapwater, what do they use for their other products like Coke? Makes you think doesn't it. LOL ;D

Latest news. LMAO ............! ;D

Dasani UK delay cans Europe sales

Outside the UK, Dasani is proving a popular thirst quencher
Coca-Cola has put off plans to sell its Dasani water in Europe following a contamination scandal which forced it to pull 500,000 bottles off UK shelves.
The company has also canned the idea of reintroducing the product to the UK.

Dasani disappeared from the shops in mid-March after it was found to have illegal levels of bromate.

Coca-Cola said it has "full confidence" in Dasani despite the setback, which followed news that Dasani was no more than treated and purified tap water.

The problems mean that a planned launch in France - seen as a key market - and Germany are now on hold.

And a UK relaunch is certainly off the cards for the moment, although it may come back in the future.

It seems that the company name being changed to Joka-Cola in the newspapers was the last straw. I suspect that heads will roll if they haven't already. ;)

Coca-cola should review its purification plant. How can good quality tapwater become polluted when purified! Since i work in the branch of wastewatertreatment, i can assure you it can! Bad process-design or control, bad maintenance, ... all can cause a effluent worse then what comes in!

Normally tapwater is very safe. In Belgium it's tested daily on dozens of parameters. Actually its the most tested product around. However i don't like it because of the chlorine, used to protect the water from contamination during transport from the waterplant to the consumer.

Bottled water isn't that controlled, and though it might seem better, its sometimes worse than tapwater.

Lots has to do with goundwatercontamination, witch can affect the quality of ths springwater used to be bottled.
