Until I've seen one of the other teams do a 9-plane roll...while in echelon formation, I will have to say that the true fight is for second place.

The obvious best is 431 (AD) Sqdn, The Snowbirds.

btw...I've seen most of the major teams, and still think the "Slush Budgies" are the best. :)

PS: The Red Arrows are only winning because almost everyone that has posted on this topic is British...

I would also like to ask, why did you say that you like the Blue Angles, Is it because you are American?

I admit that alot of people from the UK will vote for their own country, but you have to at least credit the Arrows!

I'm sure the top, or at least best known teams were given in this poll......(had never heard of the "Midnight Hawks"; just did a web search & learned they are Finnish). I'm curious as to what other nations have military aerobatic teams......how about the Aussies and Italians, I think they have them. Others(?).....anybody know?

Thanks for the advice Jake.....there are some great sites on this subject!

Personally, I'd love to check out the "Leopards" of Bophuthatswana, or Turkey's "Bats" and "White Swans"......anybody seen them? Maybe they could put the Angels and Arrows to shame!!

On the Home Front, I'd really like to see the U.S. Army's "Helicopter Square Dance Team"!! :)

Anyone seen the bats? I don't know how well they fly but they ripped of the Thunderbirds paint scheme.

Well when you see a Hawk do a roll at 30 feet you will love the Red Arrows.

And Hagar, maybe I will see you... But I warn me if I'll be needing to run away very fast. Maybe you could get some shots looking down on them for me. I'll get shots looking up. LOL!

Sorry seen the Blue angels once and they didn't really impress. It's to aggresive and gung ho.

The Reds Always are fun to watch they come first.

Crumbso

P.S. If you want formation flying that really impresses then the Frecce tricolorre beats even the Red Arrows in that catogory but after a few crashes I've seen (Including the p-63 at Biggin Hill 2 years ago It really does fill my heart with deep sorrow. There was nothing he could do it wasn't even his fault  :( ) They make me flinch tooooo close theres precision and theres bloody stupid.

Oh yeah and I saw the a340-600 doing aerobatics at farnborough 2002 with the a318 (wonderful little screamer I love it to death.) It was very impressive. Its actually quiter than the a318.

Think I'll go to Eastbourne instead so you're safe enough for now.  :D

It's closer & 4 whole days devoted to free flying displays. If it's the same as last year the Reds will be there every day except Sunday.  ;)
