Now tell me Paul, what is OXO gravy? It looks good.

For sure... looks much more appetizing than a Hot Pocket!

Another fine repast (or 2) from Paul; you know, he really should make a 'picture book' of his Meals and call it "FlightSim Cuisine"!

Alan   8-)

That's funny Alan, that's exactly what I was thinking. Hot Pockets come in a distant second place.

BUENOS DíAS señor FOZZER, I will intrude here to invite you my Mexican Breakfast: before being criticized unfairly, we just started TODAY the Guadalupe-Reyes tradition, non-stop from Dec 12 to Jan 6. Today is Virgen de Guadalupe celebration, followed by Posadas tradition, Christmas tradition, New Year's tradition 3 Reyes Magos tradition -or 3 Wise Men visit- (replaced papá Noël & Santa in castillian speking countries, bringing presents to children, before traditions became consumism). ALL mexican traditions involve ingesting huge amounts of alcohol, usually Tequila or Mezcal. I prefer Mezcal since it was the only fire watter before the Spanish invasion :violin: Tequila was started in Colonial times. So, that is my excuse for breakfasting with Mezcal... till next year: I am very very traditional, being a Capricorn & all

From top left: Mezcal, lemon & salt (as appetizer & to appease the Spirits) & corn tortillas
the plate: Charro beans (cowboy beans with bacon & hot peppers)
4 fried eggs (from happy farm chickens with rooster) Because of taking photos ¡¡two got overdone!! The ones at right are the write ones.
Topped with Mexican Sauce (tomato, onion, coriander & more hot peppers) :confusion-helpsos:
¡SALUD! :character-chef: (CLiCK photo for slide-show of preparing this)

Hawk and Alan.... :D ....!

Basic English Gravy:
Small saucepan.
One pint of water from the boiled vegetables (full of nutrients!).
Chicken Stock Cube.
Vegetable Stock Cube
Bisto Gravy Powder for seasoning, colouring, and thickening.

Melt the stock cubes in the boiled water.
....remove from the heat.
Make a liquid paste with generous teaspoon-full of Gravy Powder in a cup, and slowly-slowly add it to the water, stirring all the time, (make sure the water is not boiling, or it will form lumps!

Add any herbs and spices, if desired

Slowly simmer as the Gravy thickens, until ready to serve!

To make an onion or garlic Gravy, (sometimes using the fat scrapings from the bottom of the roasted meat tin), gently soften a finely chopped onion and/or garlic in a saucepan with Virgin Olive Oil, then proceed with the other ingredients as explained above!

A nice Gravy is the mainstay of a typical English Dinner/Meal!

...the rest is love and passion!.... :D ....!

There is a seasoning called "Slap Yo Mama" that is absolutely fantastic on tomatoes, I'm not sure if they sell internationally but you can probably get it online across the pond. I like to enjoy it with some black pepper on my Romo's or beef steak tomatoes. A splash of Tapatio on a tomato is amazing too, it's like eating a full experience picante delight!

I've just prepared my "Gravy" for today's Steak and Kidney Pie dinner, with assorted vegetables....

...and its a sobering thought that the Stock Cubes and Bisto Gravy Browning that I use, are almost entirely made up of....flavoured SALT!

Which is why the taste buds enjoy anything containing salt, even though it is extremely bad for us!

Attempts by the government at reducing the Sugar and Salt content in various foods, etc, (causing high blood pressure, heart attacks, obesity, etc) is probably doomed to failure......Humans...(and Cows) like sweet things!... ....!

One thing:... ;) ....I NEVER add extra salt to my cooking, (vegetables, etc).

Paul.... :D ...!

"Sugar?...one lump or two?".... ....!
