I take it in the form that the property/business, upon which the sign is mounted, belongs to, and is owned by the family named "Waterstone"....

...therefore it is; Waterstone's...

Paul....I have a headache approaching...

What will become of St. James's Gate?

What will become of St. James's Gate?

Pardon me, But isn't it supposed to be "St.James' Gate?

Twitter users warn the change is another step towards the 'extinction' of the apostrophe

Since when was the apostrophe a species ::).
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

No. It refers to only one St. James.

I have two teenage sisters who text me everyday and I am convinced their phones lack any sort of punctuation buttons, and certainly no form of spell check.   ::)

I had a student once hand in some homework written in txt-spk (I believe that is the correct term?)
Needless to say he got no points for that piece and when he complained I did point out that the subject I was teaching was ENGLISH ::) ;D ;D ;D
