You can see the planes, just go to the airport. ;)

Sometimes i'll listen to live atc. Google live airport webcams and a few airports come up, but I would think that it would be more difficult and expensive to maintain, and would need a lot more bandwidth. Others might feel that it would be a security risk.

www.liveatc.net has quite a few European airports with live ATC, but nothing in the UK.

I only really listen to it when I know my sister is travelling. Usually that's from London, via Chicago, to Los Angeles. I get Google Earth up to track the flight, airport webcams up to see the plane at the airport and ATC up to listen where she is.

I am yet to find her on her merry travels  :-/   It probably just shows the wrong runways and wrong radio channels.

Scanner + short trip = See AND hear the aircraft  ;D

One of my favorite purchases I've made was a scanner at Radio shack. With that and a short trip to the local airport you can see and hear all the planes you want  :D 8-)

I like listening to a live atc feed when I'm doing online flying.

Helps fill in the void of the multiplayer world.

If you get LiveATC-Chatter (payware from Ceilosim) you can tune the channels on your comm 2 radio while you fly online.  Switch from Center to Approach and so on.  I use it in the simpit when I'm flying online too.

best,
