How does the post work

Postby expat » Mon Aug 29, 2011 3:44 am

A question from a six year old boy that is not so easy to answer as you would think. How does the post work??
OK son, you take your letter to the post, pay for a stamp and then you give the letter to the postman and he delivers it......simples........no, not when the cogs start to turn in the head of a small child.....So, can someone answer the following? Per letter, per ton of letters for example??????

What happens when you want to post a letter from, lets say, Europe to the USA. You pay your 75 cents-Euro, how is that price then distributed. The post will want a few cents, so will the airline and the postal service in the US, nothing is done for free, or is it a six and two three's apart form the air transport?? Does anyone know how it is done.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Might I point you to a rather excellent channel called Discovery and a series called "How Do They Do That" ;)

This is all very interesting but it still doesn't explain who pays the airlines & how much they make out of it.

I'd ask pete what happens when you push the "Post message" button.

Edit: Ooops!!! Just re read the name. Guess You could just google it :)
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
