No doubt to be paid at a rate of 20 pence a week for the next 20 years

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

OK, please forgive me, as I'm not from the UK.

Now, let me get this straight... a kid threw a 1 pound coin at a city bus door, and he was not only arrested for it but was fined 335 pounds? What did he do; break the window on the bus door or something?

A Pound coin is quite a chunk of metal. Imagine four Quarters taped together and then throw that at a moving vehicle. However I can't help to think that if you did do this in the States, you would be charged with attempted murder and threatened with 20 to life :-/

Matt,

To be honest... if you threw something like that at a moving vehicle here in the States someone would probably say to you, "Well, that was a waste of a dollar!"

Of course, where I grew up the kids loved to throw dirt clods at cars in the Summer, and snowballs in the Winter. So, go figure...

I just thought it was a pretty stiff penalty. Now just wait a couple of years... someone like me could go to jail because I don't have Health Insurance!! LOL

That's nothing... They used to throw rocks and oranges at the windows of our school bus coach  ;D  Meanwhile, the big kids were smoking in the back, setting things on fire and getting generally high  ::)

Those were the days  8-)

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
