Explosion...my neighborhood is on fire...

Postby BigTruck » Thu Sep 09, 2010 11:52 pm

http://cbs5.com/

This explosion happened about 3 blocks from my office
according to the guard on duty we are about two blocks from the flames.

Several people are seriously injured and some need blood so if you are in the Bay Area and can donate blood please do.

This has been confirmed, it is NOT a plane crash, it is a high pressure gas line.

Edit...one fatality so far... :(

I've been following this on the news today, seems like all hell is really broke loose there.

Be safe and best of luck Justin.

Sad news indeed. I just heard about that in school today. Gas lines accidents are nasty.

Local San Francisco News...>>>

Paul.

Videos of the devastation remind me of pictures of the subsequent fire resulting from the disastrous 1906 San Francisco Earthquake.

One of the reasons I've never liked gas fuel lines -- too dangerous in conjunction with accidents and natural disasters... God protect.

The one thing I really like about the Flight Simulators...

I boarded my little Cessna 150 and took of from KSFO, Runway 26R, turning slightly left, flew over Interstate 101 to San Bruno to slowly observe the scene, and landed at Half Mood Bay (KHAF).

Wherever disaster strikes in the World, I "Sim Fly" there to explore the scene!

Nobody that I knew got hurt or affected, the firefighters did a terrific job holding the fire back from our compound.  Such a tragedy.
