...However, I do want safe props. I want them to be safer than a kids toy. I don't want an actual firearm, so there really is no need for any of the 'guns kill people' etc. Focus on Selene, the lovely girl played by Kate Beckinsale, then just imagine the guns are harmless extras. She is the main focus of the photograph! The rest is just to keep it authentic.

No offense to you or Carlo, Paul. And you are both well within your rights to have whatever opinion you choose about such things. But keep in mind that the media tends to overstate things, it helps them make money.

Granted, there are certain large cities in the U.S. that have some serious problems, but here in Redneckville, it's not so bad. There are literally hundreds of thousands of [glow=yellow,2,300]responsible[/glow] gun owners who like myself, keep their

arms secure and are high on gun handling safety. I've been handling firearms for fifty years and have never had an accident, not even close. I have been around thousands of people at various times where guns were being

handled and fired (pistol matches, hunting, etc.) with only one accident, which resulted in a round being fired into the ground harmlessly. (The embarrassed offender at least kept it pointed in a safe direction, due to

training.) But these were people who had been trained properly and were very conscientious about gun safety. Fifty years and thousands of possibilities for accidents with only one minor incident and no injuries or

damage tells me that it is not as bad as most people think. The media and anti-gun organizations want to outlaw guns and/or sensationalize the incidents for their purposes. Yet I still support everyone's right to oppose

guns and gun ownership. I'm not trying to talk anyone into taking sides here, just stating the facts as I know them.

But let me say that I am talking about personally witnessing an accident. I do have knowledge of accidents happening, that I was not present at, but they are outnumbered by automobile accidents by about 1000%. And I

would also like to apologize for saying so much about this subject in a thread asking for help in obtaining replica firearms. It's just that I have a lot of experience with and around firearms and like to see the facts stated

correctly. I won't say anymore unless I am directly asked a question. And I hope I have not stepped over the bounds with my posts as I do not wish to offend anyone.

It's fine, no need to apologise. It just seems to be one of those things that doesn't really need explaining though. Like if someone spoke about smoking cigarettes, someone is bound to say "It's bad for your health", likewise, this is a given... Guns are used in crimes, but there's always a person behind the trigger and there are a lot more injuries caused other ways. I think everyone on SimV is smart enough to know what's good and bad, and how to do things the right way and the wrong way.


But all I am interested in is an item so safe, you wouldn't mind pointing it at your pet kitten. I've fired rifles, that's all good and well... But this is where I want to do harmless photography. As I said earlier, Selene is the main focus of the shot and I just need these replicas to complete the image. If this thread was about running around town waving a pistol about then I'd expect to hear about gun safety. Just focus on the extremely attractive lady in the picture

Fozzer is right, be very careful if you make a replica. In fact, knowing (in a general sense) what the laws are where you are, I wouldn't even take it outside for fear of someone seeing it and thinking that it's real.

Or, if you are up for a little trip, my Ruger Mk III target pistol is much prettier than that gun. You could borrow it and do the photo shoot right here. The ammo would be locked up in a steel cabinet as always.

As I mentioned on the first page, the law seems to talk mostly about being in a public area. I know far better than to take it outside. A few years back I think someone was killed because they had a gun shaped cigarette lighter. Slight irony I'm sure.
