[color=#000000]No problem Doug, I'd rather talk about eating game than talk about being eaten by game.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

My concern about eating bear, wolf, cougar, lion, etc. is not due to worries about the meat itself... it's a personal thing. Other than fish, I just prefer to eat things that are "meant to be eaten" so to speak... prey animals. Never had deer, but I'd be all over that. One of these days I'd like to try my hand at hunting them.
I've heard about the adrenaline thing before... makes sense, but most of the deer consumed by humans since they started hunting were not killed quickly, and were often chased down by dogs. Probably not the tastiest cuts, but we're all still here, so it must be good enough.

I am sure most of you have seen this by now. Bears really do not have any special way of preparing their humans but they like humans to put up a fuss before dinner..

Many moons ago when I was in USAF tech school near Denver, we took a day-long mountain hike one fine Saturday.

During the short pre-hike "briefing", one of the guides spoke of what to do if we had a bear 'encounter'.

While he was talking, my buddy noticed me looking around at our group and asked what I was doing.

I told him I was sizing up who I needed to outrun!!! ;)

I was always told by the older fellas in the hunt camp that if I encountered a bear and I did not have a weapon was too:
(a) pick up to large rocks and bang together...bears hate  that sound
(b) roll up sleeve, when bear opens mouth, thrust arm down bears throat, grab bears tail, pull hard and turn bear inside out
(c) works everytime if you are married, hold up picture of mother-in-law in front of you...bear will run away

Now would I tell you folks a whopper?... ;D

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
