Librarians in New York's oldest library have uncovered a surprising borrower with overdue books: George Washington.

The first president of the United States of America borrowed two books from the New York Society Library in 1789 but failed to return them.

Adjusted for inflation, he has since racked up $300,000 (

I wouldn't doubt the books are worth more than the fine.
I have a library book from 1968. Yikes.    :)

Maybe Obama can pay for it. WITH ALL THE HEALTH CARE REFORM MONEY. Just an Idea. Or [glow=yellow,2,300]George Washington[/glow] Bush. Since his name is kinda the same

Except that his name isn't George Washington Bush, it's George Walker Bush.
