I thought you could only have like 3 names, your first, middle, then last.

I don't think there's any restrictions on how many names a person can have. Some people don't have a middle name at all.

The classmate at school I mentioned had 9 middle names. His first name was Robert & let's say his last name was Smith.
His full name was Robert, William, Henry. Stephen, Richard, John, Edward, James, Charles, George Smith.

Thats just stupid if you ask me to have all those names.

Unfortunately, in most of the modern world the parents decide the name(s), even prior to birth...
