In case you're wondering what the heck this has to do with FS...

Back in September Microsoft announced it would stop selling packaged versions of Money, The Register reports, making it available only as a download, although it stressed its commitment to personal finance.

Make sense. My wife's bank does most of what Money/Quicken do online.

I prefer to keep my info on my own machine though. Not on thier servers. Additionally, I do more personal accounting stuff currently, and really do not care to share it, as not all of my accounts, investments, etc are through one firm.

Banks are supposed to keep all that stuff confidential. But lets say my bank is one of those that they gov took over.. (okay.. bailed out, what ever). If (and I said IF) it goes further to true nationalisation, then they will have access to all my books, not just my tax returns.

Don't like that idea.
