I have not heard of this in a long time.

Great comedy but serious stuff for the dispatcher. I can't believe someone would do that.

In an interview she stated she didn't know what she did was an abuse of the 911 system. Put that woman on a raft and send it adrift!
BTW, I heard McNuggets are made from the parts that would otherwise be thrown away. ;D

Indeed it is Theis. 10/10 & a Gold Star. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I think this confirms what I said about education standards.

Does a 'dozen' matter? I don't think it does any (dozeny :))  more.

While the woman's reaction - calling 911 - was overboard, the REASON why she called was not.

Basically, she placed an order.  The emporium took her money, and then told her they did not have what she ordered AND REFUSED TO REFUND HER MONEY when she did not accept what they offered.

Typically, this behavior is "Bait and Switch" ....

Think of how crazy people here get when they download an "FS-X"  model only to find that it's a ported FS9 model, tweaked for FS-X.  ...

Granted, I would not call 911, but I would have calmly refused to budge from the window until my money was returned.  If the police were called, then they would have to explain why they were refusing to return the money they had appropriated from me under false pretenses....   I would like to see the manager squirming as he's advised on " petty larcerny"  or some such.  And if a pattern of such behavior can be proven on the part of that store, maybe this could lead to a racketeering charge?

Again, the woman - ahem - overreacted, but the basic reason was valid.  This wasn't about McNuggets

Come to think of it, this is the second tussle with stupidity over McNuggets. I had a personal one back in the 1980's with an airhead McDonald's employee.

I asked for a dozen chicken McNuggets. She looked at me totally baffled and said, "Sir, we only sell them in 6, 9 and 12 piece meals" I choked back the laughter and watched as several people perked up and began to watch the unfolding drama.

I think that says more about the education system than intelligence of the girl. The poor soul had obviously never been taught about dozens.

Come to think of it, in this age of metrication I wonder how many people in this country below the age of about 30 know what a dozen is. Most things are sold in multiples of 10 these days.

one thing that I was taught as a young child, around the age of 6-9 (maybe 12?? lol) was baker dozens = 13 of an item. and a Quakers Dozen = 14.  glad i paid attention to my Grandmother, god rest her soul  :'(      btw, im 28.
