Reports are saying that everyone has been rescued safely, the crash was apparently caused by multiple bird strikes into BOTH engines.

Different news stations are getting different facts, but yes, Port Authority just confirmed that passengers are cold, but safe.

Yeah, it's all over the news.  As of 4:46EST, FAA reports that all got off OK.  The aircraft is still floating and moving downriver.  Per TV news, ATC now reports flight took off at 3:24EST from LaGuardia, several minutes later the birds hit it, or it hit the birds.  Quite lucky for everyone on board, news showed some of the passengers boarding a rescue boat, they looked shaken but composed.  148+5 crew.  "Controlled crash" per news, pilot certainly deserves much credit here.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
