Wow im hearing alot of the same and diffrent storys. I was expecting like 3 posts but alot of people I know from the forums like A1, Brando, esselbach, vodka burner, couldent forget fozzer (funniest person I know on the forums  :)) .. and im meeting more people in the other pasts of these forums.

Seems like alot of you started before Microsoft!  ;D And alot of you dint have internet and some people have been here for 6 or more years! To be honest im suprised alot becuase I use to be on the IGN blogs and stuff for a long time but I only have like 220 posts and here im going for 500! and I love the avatars and signatures and quoting people when you post you have to pay for all that on IGN  >:(. Ever since I joined here on simv, I learned how to use Autopilot, Addons, Virtual Airlines, THE ILS!!!, VOR, and alot of stuff that use to bug me alot on FSX. Its seems like 2004 was alot popular that FSX and it still seems popular?

I will admit these were great storys but if you havent told me your story yet feel free Ill love to read it and the long ones are sometimes funny like fozzers simulators in the 70's  ;D

My simming days started back either with what was to become known as the first MSFS, or Chuck Yeager's ATF, I can't remember for sure that long ago.  I wasn't but 5 or 6 at the time.  I didn't start the whole downloading thing though until I moved up to FS98.  I think I may have flown almost all of Microsoft's flight simulators, but may have missed a version somewhere between 2 and 95.

It all started back in Bethpage, when I first discovered my grandfather's copy of FS98, and spent god-knows-how-long trying to fly that danged Dallas-to-Denver flight in the 734.

Things started to ramp up when my grandparents sent me FS2000Pro for my 10th(?) birthday, and got me hooked. Just buzzing around wherever I thought looked good at about 10fps on an age-old Compaq pc, trying to figure out why the #*%&ed VC would'nt display, and wondering if there was anything more that I could do...

It was around the advent of FS2002 when I discovered SimV (that's what dial-up in the boonies does to you, gents. :'(), and me and my stepfather had a pretty fun time wondering what would be our next download. It continued through to fs2004 until I discovered the joys of Payware (groan), which was about 4 months after getting up enough courage to join these forums as Jet Ranger (now only Jet, as short names are in :D)

Nowadays, with a few notable exceptions, my craving for flight simulation experience is for a nearly insatiable realism. Indeed, the only reason I have yet to join VATSIM is because of my darned Yahoo email account (help anyone? PM me suggestions so to not clog up this thread. :)), which also holds me back from several VAs as well. In the meantime, I fly alone, at 35000 feet, mainly in the PMDG 747, occasionally interspersed with the 737, though soon I will be collecting the LevelD 767 to aid my desire for variety, and a new high quality scenery package arriving every other week (currently planned are ImagineSim KDEN and KATL).

I am now yet another regularly active addition to the madhouse that is SimV.

Cheers, clear skies, and a crash-free simulation (in more ways than one)

Jet.
8-)

They put you there because you were the only one who spoke with the funny accent. ;)
