@ Key

Although this could be a hardware question, it is meant more as a general question............

After all these years of the internet and email, why does the "@" not have it's own key. What stupid key combo do you require of your own languages keyboard to get it. Mine is a German keyboard, that means right Alt Q to get @. We have so many useless keys. For example, when was the last time we used the "print Screen" key, with Windows 3.1 or MS DOS? It must be about time it had it's own key. A billion people a day are performing finger gymnastics every time they sent an email. I am sure some US lawyer can come up with a case to sue because we have all got @finger after 30 years of emailing.

Rant over

I believe the standard keyboard was established long before email existed.

I have a Hungarian keyboard and need to use CTRL+ALT+V to get it. And this doesn't work in Word and I have to pick a symbol from the pull-down menu ::)

I wouldn't mind a 'http://' key or a '.com' key as well.  While we're at it, why is the ':' key above the ';' key?

I think I remember reading the whole qwerty layout was really not the most efficient method for a keyboard, but it's the standard, so it stays...

I really don't care about how the keys are set up. Yeah it is quite annoying at times but really who notices.
