Are you running lefties on your Rush Chris??

Went out riding on my Specialized Big Hit for the first time this season, and even with 3" wide super tacky tyres it was no match for the ice!

Yup, got the Lefty.  Works great.  I tried riding once (and just once) on ice without the studs.  Went down HARD.  No problems with the studs though.

This thread caught my attention on the 12th but it was too late for me to deal with it at the time. Due to the past week's power-killing weather, accompanied by other problems, I've been staying at the jobsite until early this morning. I am quite short on funds or materials but, nevertheless, particularly since I've been given extra incentive (see A Trek to Cycling, if you haven't), I have plans for a self-charged, motorized bicycle.
There are already bicycles that are motor-driven (please note that internal combustion engines are technically not motors). However, rather than battery-assisted they are battery-powered, requiring an ample amount of recharging time after most usage. I am also not keen about the fact that they operate on 24v to 36v; not a drastic problem but I'd prefer they were more compatible with 12v systems although it may initially require higher operating current. I believe the current 24v to 36v bicycle motors operate in the 50amp to 100amp range; maintaining the wattage, the equivelent 12v current would be in the 100amp to 300amp range.
