Upload it to SimV, keeping it no more than 100 pixels wide and no more than 10k in weight, then edit profile. Check the box next to "I have my own pic" then paste the URL of the upload, removing the [img] tags.

Also, make sure that the name of the shot has no spaces in it, otherwise it won't work. I had that problem a while back.

:'(  Well, It isn't working.  I've messed with the picture and it's 73x93 by 7.31kb.  Tried uploading it and get a message that says "already have it" or something like that.  I changed it from GIF to JPEG and same thing.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong.  I'm checking the box in profiles/options/have a pic.

Use a unique filename, otherwise the forum won't let you overwrite files with the same name... ;)

What esselbach said... if the forum software already has a file uploaded to it that has the same name as yours, then you won't be able to upload it. Simple fix; change the name of your file to something very specific; for example 'uncleyuknewavatarpic18.1.08' (naturally it'd have a file extension on the end too, but if I put a '.jpg' there the software wants to make a link there. ;)

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Except you use the path without the [img] code.

Also make sure that you actually change the name, not the file extension;
that the file extension is actually a .jpg or .gif image, not a bitmap (.bmp) that's been relabeled with a .jpg or .gif extension.

The name will be case-sensitive, too... including the extension.
