Pakistani former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto....

Pakistani former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has been killed in a presumed suicide attack, a spokesman for the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) says.

Other reports said Ms Bhutto had only been injured and taken to hospital.

Hopefully the latter is the truth.

Alas, seems they were out to get her & have suceeded.

She was pro-democracy, and diametrically opposed to the Zia-ul-Haq regime.

A forward-thinker in a backward nation.

R.I.P. Brave Woman.

I wouldn't say she was one of the good guys but I also wouldn't argue that she wasn't one of the better of the bunch.....

I dont see this lasting long.
But I would also have to say this was always going to happen in the current situation. I personally think as much good that she did, her own ego and desire for the spotlight is what has caused her death.

I think you should know better than post this Paul.

This news will be all over the media if anyone is interested.

Anyway, I found out about this from a website (that posted the BBC & CNN links) not had the news on in days, when this sort of thing happens in our world, you can see why I tent to avoid the news media.

I'll shut it now!  :-X

Oh yes, it's definitely newsworthy. ;) The media must be rubbing their hands & it will be headline news for days. We won't be able to get away from it. I don't know enough about the woman to comment but there are probably as many people against her as for her. That's the problem with politics. You of all people should know that old friend.

You don't have to apologise to me.

Fair enough mate, cheers.  :)

It's a sad and disturbing story, but kinda predictable if you followed the events in Pakistan lately.

From here it can go 2 ways... either the people run over the government or the country slips into dictatorship...

And that's all I'm going to say about this.  :-X  ;)
