Good morning Craig.. :)

This late person if he/she is of any importance or of prominent status should have their name along with this incident posted in all the local newspapers asking for an apology and a formal written explanation to the general public.
Their actions was not only rude and inconsiderate but a slap in the face to veterans, serving members of the armed forces, organizations like the Legion, the general public and yourself.
I would not hesitate to send out letters to the local newspapers demanding an explanation and public apology.
