Possible hoax?

Postby Sir_Crashalot » Tue Nov 06, 2007 2:31 am

Yesterday a newspaper wrote an article about a superstorm coming up for the end of November here in Western Europe. Based on an article by an English weather expert called Piers Corbijn they wrote that a severe stormfront was coming up with windspeeds up to 200 km/h and heavy snowfall. Even tornados were possible. It was all published on a website www.Weather Action.fi.

Now I tried to find more info about this. The website doesn't exist. Nor anything resembling the name. Piers Corbijn does exist, Googling his name doesn't give a link to the news. Besides the forementioned article in the Dutch newspaper.

Anybody else heard this story? Could it be true or is it a hoax?

Crash ;)

I'd say you have enough evidence there that it's a hoax  ;)

I saw an article on the BBC website over the weekend about a possible cold snap snap during what they are predicting is going to be a mild winter. There was nothing about 200 km/h winds or more than normal snow, just icy conditions and maybe some snow.

Who knows though ....... predictions can be wrong ..... and more than likely are.

Here's the site you've mentioned ...... http://www.weatheraction.com/

Piers Corbyn most certainly does exist. For confirmation type his name in Google. Whether he can be taken seriously is a different matter. I'm immediately suspicious of anyone described as an 'expert'.

That site doesn't appear to have been updated for several months.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
