Schooner Anne update: a bit of levity

Postby beaky » Fri Aug 17, 2007 1:02 am

Some of you may remember previous posts about this crazy guy I know who's setting a new sailing endurance record with his girlfriend aboard a boat he built himself and has already sailed all over the globe...

I check in on the boat's blog every week or so, and the latest entry cracked me up, especially the picture...thought you guys might find it amusing.
Reid is a colorful character, but I've never seen him act goofy, and didn't take him for a "Parrothead", that's for sure!  Maybe over 100 days at sea has unhinged him, even though he's done it before... :D

Only 884 days to go, Reid... keep humming those Jimmy Buffet tunes and you'll make it for sure! LOL!!

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Yes, it could go either way, couldn't it? But it seems to be working out so far for them... if you go back a few entries, there's one where they talk a bit about that, specifically.
I'd rather have her along than be alone on such a voyage (or have a male crewmate): she's pretty, and obviously bright and resourceful, even if she is very inexperienced at sailing. And she seems to believe in the mission- not just along for the ride.
