YORK, Pa. - A Glen Rock man arrived at the Shrewsbury (Ohio) district court on March 26 for a drunken-driving hearing and appeared to be intoxicated at the hearing.
He never made it away from his parking space after his court appearance. Failing a portable breath test for alcohol, he was taken into custody for a blood test which revealed that his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal driving limit. He was again charged with DUI.

I never drink within 12 hours of driving or 24 hours of flying/parachuting. This is a VERY strict rule with me and NEVER broken. All I can say is someone with this kind of a problem (or sooooooo dumb) really needs to have their licence taken away before they kill some innocent A friend of mine was killed some years ago by a drink-driver and all the jerk got was banned for two years from driving and a fine of under 800 quid!
The jerk was unfortunate in that my friend was a biker and one night a couple of weeks after the case some men in black leathers wearing masks went round his house and beat him so badly he was in hospital for over a month. The police never found out who it was..... but then my friend had a lot of mates who were cops 8-) Who says there isn't justice? [smiley=evil.gif]

I had a friend in Nam that was returning from R & R. The helo was descending to the helipad and was only about 8 feet off the deck when I heard- "Oh $hit!" and saw the dumbass hit the deck. He had fallen out of the helo and landed spread eagle on the helipad. The pilot was looking out of his window laughing his ass off as was the door gunner. I ran over and dragged his half dead ass out from under the helo so it could land. Turns out he was beyond drunk and had thought the helo was closer to the ground than it was...lmao...he actually stepped off the slick....lmao.

Drunks aren't the brightest people on the planet, that's for sure.

A legal resolution and a just resolution are sometimes separated by a large divide and one always seems to walk over the other.

I consider myself a "Sociable Drinker".  

There are time I just get chuck full of "Sociability"      :o    :P    ;)

On a more serious note, we do not drink and drive.
The Federal Law here now is you can be charged with the intent to drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs (medical prescriptions) or fatigue (lack of sleep).
The keys do not even have to be in the ignition of the piece of equipment you are going to operate.
The crew of an aircraft or boat can now also be charged for failing to stop the operator being the Captain or whoever.

I believe these new laws came into effect around 2002 or just prior.
