A very interesting read if you ask me. In fact, it kind of makes me wonder how many of us are prepared in terms of handing over electronic info to our next of kin.

Interesting. I think the obvious solution is if you want your next of kin going through that sort of thing after you die then put the passwords in your will. If you don't (and some may not) then don't.

That IS food for thought. It is difficult to get around that problem without risking a security breach.

I have a hard-backed note book on top of my computer case containing a comprehensive list of all my log-in names and passwords for all my sites and e-mail addresses.
Always kept up to date.

That is where they are safe.......
....not on my hard drive!.....after it has crashed....again... ....!

P.S. I never store important data on my hard drive, it is always stored in paper form, and duplicated on removable storage devices (Floppy, CD, etc)......!

Thats kinda funny in a sad way. just lost my father several months ago to lung cancer and he took most of his elctroic stuff with him as well even though he told a lot of his friends he was sick. When he passed and even before that due to his mind somewhat going there is now telling how many people he knew that did not know for sure he has passed.
