Residents of that city (and all along that fault line) are remarkably loyal to their home despite the danger. Must be the frisson of impending catastrophe or something. The Pompeiians used to say "wine made from grapes grown on Vesuvius tastes better".
Or it could just be because it's a nice place to live (except for the traffic jams).
You might want to visit San Fransisco while it's still standing, Paul...;)

As I receive the Kron4 news every day, earthquakes are always at the top of the news in the 'Frisco area.... :o...!
It's a daily occurence there...!

We recently had a television documentary regarding the 1906 'Quake...fascinating...the reason for so much damage and the fire which followed it...!
..and all the photographs and film taken at the time of the 'Quake...!

Extremely interesting... ;D...!
