Prowler crash

Postby flyboy 28 » Sun Mar 05, 2006 12:19 am

I remember seeing today on the news that an EA-6 crashed in Washington state I think. All four crew members ejected safely though.

*edit, it was from NAS Whidbey Island in Washington, but crashed in Oregon.

That would be the regular old A-6 Intruder. This was an EA-6 Prowler, an electronic warfare jet.

Looks like the Prowler was the final straw.

Navy grounds ALL aircraft for safety review

A half a day for maintence? If they are worried about saftey, they need more than 12 hours to take a look at all 3,800 aircraft in the fleet.
