Africa?  I remeber it mentioning a rhombus type shape that extended eastward beyond Africa.  India was mentioned.  Perhaps Indonesia even; my memory is rusty.

I use to read "1984". I never got to finish it though. Have you ever heard of the book "The Giver"? It's just like 1984, but the system of government is completely opposite. No war, no arguements, just a peaceful world where societies are near perfect and civilized. Well, sometimes too perfect.

Actually, I never finished that book either. But I did read farther into it than 1984.

The book is about a young boy who grows up in a civilized utopia. The boy grows up to learn many things he never knew about the society he grew up on after being hand-chosen to take a position of great importance. That's as far as I know.
