WOHOO!!! SEATTLE WON!!

Oh yeah, our first superbowl!

According to your profile, you live in the Ellensburg, Wa area? I've been through there many, many times, though I could never live in a desert. Though, it is closer to real trees than Moses Lake :D

Nope, their inability to run the football killed them.  They never even had one good length steady drive.  Without a good running back, they couldn't set up the passing game and that was it.  So, they had to constantly punt and keep giving Seattle the ball (usually with good field position).  Seattle had the ball for like 48 minutes or something like that, with an offense like they have Carolina's defense had no chance.

48 minutes :o Thats truely unacceptable. I am guessing either the Carolina and Denver coaches wanted a hawaiian vacation, or the presure just got to both teams being the favourates to win.

Well, for Carolina it was simply the fact that they couldn't run the football.

Now you lost me, well since I started posting in this thread. To tell you the truth, I've really been lost since the beginning... ;D

You're talking about punts, and punting punters. You mentioned a couple times they couldn't run. Why couldn't they run?

...And what's a point underdog scale ???

Well, they couldn't run the football because Seattle wouldn't let them, when they would run the football Seattle would tackle them before they got anything out of it.

That makes sense.

Maybe when superbowl day comes, I might be able to follow along and kind of understand what's happening :D

Just some basics..

2 Teams of 11 players each. The team who has the ball is the Offense and the other obviously is the defense (since they are defending their end of the field - trying to keep the offense from getting through them to the goal line by a runner carrying the ball or a receiver who has caught it.

After a Kickoff, which happens at the beginning of the game or after the opposing team had scored, The team receiving

This is probably the dumbest question someone could ask about sports, but what does a team do to start with the ball and go on the offense, instead of always starting out as defense? ;)

you could have just said:
They flip a coin, the winner tells the ref, if they want to kick or receive the ball in the first half. They then get the opposite of what they chose to start the second half. ;D
