I can't believe how much people get worked up about this kind of thing. I'm against cruelty to animals myself, but if it was simply a bird, which was about to ruin a months hard work of mine (and a good hundred other people), I wouldn't think twice about stopping it, in the quickest way.

It's the people that say they want, or are going to get revenge that really annoy me. Why don't you try taking a trip to Africa, and getting revenge on the poachers, deliberately killing endangered species, every day.

I can't imagine what these people would think, if they knew of every incident like this.

I just don't see why they couldn't have trapped it rather than shooting it.
However these animal rights extremists do tend to be a bit silly about things but threatening someone with death is a tad overboard IMHO.
Frankly I hate dominos, I'm a card man ;)

I think shooting the bird was a tad excessive. For crying out loud it is only a game ::)

So sad!
There seem to be two vaild sides to this.

A) It took people ages to get this stupid domino thing up, and they obviously hadn't  had sex or anything during that time, so they were testosteronially on edge and shot the bird out of pure agression (+its funny as).

B) The bird didnt deserve to die, as it only knocked over dominos, it didnt knock over people with avian flu.

Both are valid.

Solution?

When you're screwing with dominos, stay away from the birds.

A custodial sentence would have been far more appropriate... :P

I can't help thinking that it would have been poetic justice if the sound of the shot used to kill that poor little creature had started the rest of those dominoes off. ;D

I'm suprised at how fast a rifle was procured for the execution of this sparrow. It was almost as if they expected someone or something to f*ck with them.

But then again this is Holland and isn't cannabis supposed to cause paranoia? ;D

While I am not an animal rights activist, I am a caring human being. I can see how one could be frustrated after a bird, of all things, could ruin such work, but there was absolutley un-neccesary to kill the poor creature. I agree with Rotty said. Also, how could it know what it was doing? It's not like he did it on purpose. >:(
