Well....they don't call Chicago "The Windy City" for nothing...today winds are steady at 25-30mph with gusts up to 50mph.  ::)

Pffft. That's nothing. We live on top of a mountain so we're always getting strong winds from the valley below us. Don't know what it's called though.

We get that regularly after it rains.

Chicago is called the windy city because of its political climate in the 50s (I believe it was the 50s), it has nothing to do with the weather.

It is always windy in the spring and fall around here. It's extremely flat, so the is nothing to obstruct the wind. This has caused me to miss several flying lessons this fall. ::)

why is it called the windy city, becuse of the politicians.

believe me it felt like pre-tornado winds. today i pushed in carts at meijer, and i counted how many carts has hit cars due to the winds. 24 that I pulled in. not to mention another 17 that had been flying down the emptyness of the parking lot and tipping over.

hard work, i should get paid more.
