That seems a tad young but he can't do any worse than the Mayor I'm thinking of. ::) :D

Speaking of that I'm surprised that nobody mentioned this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/4413370.stm
I meant to post it myself but forgot all about it.
First flight for teen's airline

A teenager dubbed "the baby Branson" saw his first flight take off on Monday after launching his own airline.
The maiden flight for Martin Halstead's Alpha One Airways left Southampton Airport on Monday morning, bound for the Isle of Man.

The 19-year-old pilot, of Oxfordshire, who dreamed up the idea in a coffee shop, said he was "excited and numb".

Although the first flight took off on Monday, the twice daily service does not start until 21 November.

The company, which is hoping to carry 75,000 passengers in its first year, has bought one 18-seat BAE Jetstream 31 aircraft and is planning to lease another.

I would be optimistic, however the fact that he's attending college and acting as the mayor worries me a bit.

But imagine being his professor!  "Mr. Mayor, what are you doing?  In my classroom biology comes first, the people of Hillsdale second!" ::)

Depends what he's supposed to do. If he has more official responsibilities than a typical mayor in the UK (whch is an honorary & mainly ceremonial position usually awarded to a long-serving member of the council) I would want someone with a little more experience of life.

I would imagine it varies state to state, but a Mayor in the US is actually expected to improve the city somehow.  Here in Houston, we've been waiting for a mayor that will do something about this horrendous traffic (second behind only Los Angeles), but so far they've all just sat on their... bums.

Doug, I believe their Mayors rank around the level of your local MP in terms of what sort of power they have, and the job their supposed to do.

That's what I thought Craig. In that case I would definitely want someone older & more experienced. Most young people tend to be very idealistic & passionate with all sorts of brilliant ideas that turn out to be completely impractical. Thankfully most of them mellow with age like your old mate Hagar. I was young & idealistic once you know. ;)
