Halloween

Postby Flt.Lt.Andrew » Sat Oct 29, 2005 7:50 pm

I'm not going to hark on about specifics, but all I'm saying....be careful. While many tout it as harmless fun, its worshipping some very bad things.
I'm not going to exptrapolate, but I know you can work it out.

Halloween is just a day to wear a weird costume and eat candy, or if you're older- go to a party with said weird costume. Nothing more, nothing less. And yes, I know it came from a pagan holiday and to that I say "so?". ::)

I don't know how to break this to you, but lots of Christian holidays in the year have their roots in pagan practices.

Christmas (the tree)
Easter (the eggs are a pagan fertility rite)
There are seveal others, but I don't feel like going into it all.  I do fail to see how dressing in a crazy costume, then going trick-or-treating for candy can be a form of "devil worship".

Interesting coincidence:  Salem (the place of the notorious witch trials) is now the Halloween captiol of the world!  The PD patch even has a witch on it from what I've heard!

Strangely enough, those who hand out pamphlets on Halloween (you know...the ones that tell you to repent...stop trick-or-treating...anything fun..etc.), seem to be the most unhappy people I know of (and abuse tends to run rampant in their homes).

Halloween is the best time of the year to find cool decor for the gothic home.

In my neighborhood...the houses are even more elaborately decorated than Christmas!

You should see what they do...it's amazing!
