Well, the R/C fleet has grown again. Now I own an E-Flite BladeCP electric helicopter! It's a blast! I've had it about two weeks now and have probably about 4 hours hovering it. I've never flown a helicopter and have been teaching myself. Only went through one pair of blades though! Used 'em untill about 1.5 inches flew off of one of them! haha. Anyway, it's got training gear now, so I haven't nicked up the blades since.
Well, later last week my brother in law purchased two 4 foot long R/C BLIMPS, one for him, and one for my dad. They have three chanels, (up/down, left/right, forward/backward) and should be quite fun outside. (We're going to add 20' of fishing line on it in case she starts to get away from us too fast. And if that doesn't work... we'll just keep a BB gun handy to bring 'er down!
So, that's all fine and dandy... but they NOW serve a PURPOSE. Photography! I just got one of those micro-cams off of ebay for $50 and have been messing around with it today. She works BEAUTIFULLY on the helicopter! It's so fun to look back at the video and see what it looks like from the helo's perspective! Range has only been tested to about 150' so far. We've also tested it on my dads T-Maxx RC monster truck and that was TOTALLY SWEET!!
Once we get the blimps here, we'll mout the cam on that and see if we can't get some hi-octane action from above when the three of us decide to race again! We'll have shots from inside the cars, the blimp, and the helicopter following the cars!
